Dr. Boatwright graduated from Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine after majoring in Biology at Dartmouth College. She spent one year as an equine surgical intern at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center and one year as a research assistant and instructor in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery at Cornell before entering private practice. She worked for two years at the New England Equine Practice before joining Genesee Valley Equine Clinic in 1996.
Dr. Boatwright has a professional interest in equine sports medicine and has taken special training in veterinary acupuncture. Although her case load covers all aspects of equine practice, she enjoys focusing on performance horse medicine and surgery.
Dr. Boatwright and her husband, Eric Grace, live in Geneseo with several horses and a host of dogs and cats. Eric is director of the Genesee Valley Conservancy, a land trust dedicated to preserving open space in the Genesee Valley. Together they foxhunt with the Genesee Valley Hunt, and Dr. Boatwright is a frequent competitor in area riding events. Besides horseback riding, she enjoys running, skiing, knitting and gardening.
