Dr. Leibeck earned her veterinary degree at Cornell University. She grew up in Scottsville, New York, and graduated from Wheatland-Chili High School in 1981. She majored in Biology, Chemistry and Secondary Education at S.U.N.Y. Potsdam and spent three years teaching secondary school science and coaching sports before going to veterinary school. After graduating from Cornell she had a year of internship at the Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Dr. Leibeck joined Genesee Valley Equine Clinic in 1995 and has been involved in day-to-day management and ownership of the practice since 2001. Her professional veterinary interests include reproduction, internal medicine, pediatrics and dentistry. She does extensive broodmare work on farms during breeding season.
Dr. Leibeck and her husband, Steve, live in Churchville with their daughter, Riley Jane, and a varying menagerie of horses, cats, and dogs. Steve provides farrier services to area horses and is well known to many GVEC clients. In her spare time, Dr. Leibeck enjoys trail riding, photography and spending time with her family.
