Dr. Amy Snyder joined Genesee Valley Equine Clinic in 2012. She is originally from Newport, NY. Dr. Snyder received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University after obtaining a BA in Asian Studies and minor in French from Colgate University. Upon completion of her veterinary degree, she interned at Chino Valley Equine Clinic in Chino, CA. From 2005 to 2007, she completed an Equine Practice Residency at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. As part of the residency, she had the opportunity to spend six months during the breeding season at Goulburn Valley Equine Clinic in Australia, expanding her reproduction and neonatal training. She then entered equine private practice.
Since joining Genesee Valley Equine Clinic, she successfully completed the College of Animal Chiropractics course in Vertebral Spinal Manipulation Therapy. Locally she is an active member of the Genesee Valley Riding and Driving Club and Genesee Valley Breeders Association.
Dr. Snyder resides near Varysburg, New York with her husband, Bruce Perl. In her free time, she enjoys riding and eventing her OTTB thoroughbred mare, Bella.
