Dr. Lauren DeGennaro is Genesee Valley Equine Clinic’s intern for 2019-2020. She grew up in Connecticut and started horseback riding in high school. She attended Boston College for undergrad, where she majored in biochemistry and minored in theology. She attended Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, during which time she also worked as a Student Emergency Surgery Technician in the Equine and Farm Animal Hospital (“Colic Crew”). She also served as one of the student directors of the Southside Healthy Pet Clinics. These clinics were hosted and organized by Cornell Vet students and offered vaccines to healthy pets for residents living below the poverty line. Lauren is very excited to be part of the GVEC team! Her professional interests include theriogenology, internal medicine, and ophthalmology.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, birding, playing clarinet, and spending time with her cat, Misty.
