Dr. Emily Miller is the GVEC intern for the 2026-2027 year. She attended the University of Vermont for her undergraduate studies where she also competed on the dressage team. She then attended Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in May 2026.
Dr. Miller grew up in New Hampshire and started riding at a very young age. Her first horse, Mercedes, was her dream come true. They participated in Pony Club and foxhunting until an injury forced his retirement. Dr. Miller’s current horse, Zaria, went to undergrad with her. Mercedes and Zaria are back home in New Hampshire while Dr. Miller completes her internship with us! While home, she and Zaria dabble in dressage still and enjoy hitting the trails. Dr. Miller has three cats (Cabot, Triscuit, and Hendrick). In her free time, she likes to ride, hike, cross country ski, cook, knit, and visit local farm stands and markets.
Dr. Miller is fascinated by the human-animal bond and she has a soft spot for geriatric patients. She states that her love of horses, science, and being outside, all added up to her being a veterinarian!
