

Dr. Rebecca McOnie from Cornell University presented on “Modern Tools for Better Outcomes: Integrating Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques for the Performance Horse.”
GVEC’s very own doctors discussed “Life on the Road: The Glamorous Life of an Equine Ambulatory Practitioner.” Drs. Amy Leibeck, Joan Ayers, Sarah Pell, Gaby Faragasso, and Megan Bernard all touched on their daily lives in an informative and comedic discussion!

Dr. Barbara Delvescovo from Cornell University presented on “Stumbling Through Neurology: A Look At The Neurologic Horse”. She explored how to recognize neurologic deficits, showing videos of abnormal horses, and discussed possibilities for treatments and common outcomes..
Also from Cornell University, Dr. Kelly Knickelbein spoke on “Beware the Eyes – Ocular disease in horses and why it matters”.
Dr. Kara Brown from the University of Pennsylvania at New Bolton has a sports medicine background and spoke on “Referring to a University: What Can We Do for Your Poorly Performing Horse?”.
Dr. Katharyn Mitchell from Cornell University contributed insights from the internal medicine and cardiology point of view.
Both doctors addressed how they collaborate with our clients and GVEC veterinarians to provide comprehensive care for our equine patients. They also touched on when horses need referrals and what their two hospitals could offer.
